I copied the old applications and changed the perimeters to match the new executables, but during test imaging, they did not fail, but they also did not update. I did some research on the dell utility flash64w, but I have not had luck with it either. Has anyone else faced a similar situation or have some guiding advice Thank you. I recently deployed this and it works GREAT I use it in conjunction with their Modern Driver Management. Heres an example for a Latitude 5480: These conditional queries are applied to a Run Command Line task to be sure its applied to the right hardware and its not downgrading the BIOS if a new batch of laptops ships with something newer than Ive published select from Win32ComputerSystem where Model like Latitude 5480 select from WIN32BIOS where SystemBiosMajorVersion select from WIN32BIOS where SystemBiosMinorVersion Then I use this syntax to run the files in the package: Flash64W.exe bLatitude5X80Precision35201.12.0.exe noPause s f lC:WindowsTempBIOS.log Obviously youll need to check the Package box (and use the package you created that contains the 2 files mentioned above) and I set the timeout to 10 minutes. Dell Bios Command Line Error 105 Drivers Are InstalledThis happens right after the OS is installed (after Apply Operating System, Apply Windows Settings, and Apply Network settings) but before drivers are installed. Otherwise this is basically what I do, but also in a child task sequence. The page mentions a change to the XML in Dec, but things appear to be working normally for me. Dell Bios Command Line Error 105 Download All MyI currently download all my bios files once every other month and have them on a network share. Then during my TS before it lays down the OS I run this script and it just updates the bios. Granted it has no check if the existing bios is the same one its laying down but I havent had any failures yet. My bios update package only includes this script and flas64w.exe. Again there is no error checking so its your mileage may vary. New-PSDrive -Name Y -PSProvider FileSystem -Root pathtobiosfiles -Scope Global Out-Null use credentials if you need to pass credentials. I can see it pick the right task sequence step when watching, but then its like nothing happens level 1 1 point 1 year ago edited 1 year ago I have setup the dell repo manager, and then during my task sequence it installs dell command update. When you run dell command update, you can point it at the repo that you have setup. You can have one for each model, or 1 big with one with all your bios files in. Then you have the dell command update installed on your boxes, that you can use later on to do driver updates, or bios update later in a controlled manner. Works really well. ![]() Members 332 Online Created Nov 11, 2011 Join help Reddit App Reddit coins Reddit premium Reddit gifts about careers press advertise blog Terms Content policy Privacy policy Mod policy Reddit Inc 2020.
